Setting approval workflow options

By default, Flow has 4 types of documents:

  • Procedure
  • Work instruction
  • Form
  • Other – For example, presentations, regulations, important emails

Defining the document approval workflow

By default, the Flow approval workflow process has 3 stages. For each stage, the approvers are users with Editing permissions.

Contact Flow support to change the workflow process in these ways:

  1. Change the number of stages
  2. Define different groups for approvers at each stage

An approval workflow

For each type of document, follow these steps to require approval before publishing:

  1. Click your username, and then click [Administration]. The Flow Administration page opens.
  1. Click [Workflow management]. The [Workflow Settings] page opens.
  1. In the [Workflow by Document Type], under [Workflow Required?] select the check box for each document type that requires an approval workflow.
  2. Click [Save Changes]. The approval workflow setting is updated for those document types.
